Steve Bannon Fired

The controversial tenure of Steve Bannon has come to an end.

According to CNN, Bannon was given the option to resign but was forced out.

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders confirmed Bannon’s departure on Friday in a statement.

“White House Chief of Staff John Kelly and Steve Bannon have mutually agreed today would be Steve’s last day. We are grateful for his service and wish him the best.”

According to the CNN report, President Trump has been mulling what to do about Bannon in recent days. Despite previously having defended Bannon, Trump was furious with his chief strategist’s interview with the American Prospect. During the interview, Bannon contradicted the President on North Korea and boasted his personal power to make changes within the administration.
With his short and tumultuous tenure at an end, the big question is whether Bannon will remain an ally or turn into an enemy. Bannon is expected to return to Breitbart and with that platform could certainly inflict more damage to an already faltering White House.
