Senate Intelligence Commitee Rejects Flynn’s Request
Former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn’s request for immunity in exchange for his testimony has been denied.
Flynn’s lawyer has been advised the request in premature and not a deal the Committee is willing to commit to. Sources add that Flynn’s offer has also been extended to the Justice Department.
The request was met with mixed reactions, from praise to contempt, leaving some wondering what motivated the request. In the past, Flynn stated that such requests suggest guilt. Guilt over what, if anything, is impossible to say. Flynn however found himself a surprising supporter in the President himself.
“Mike Flynn should ask for immunity in that this is a witch hunt (excuse for big election loss), by Dems, of historic proportion!”
News broke Thursday night of the former adviser’s willingness to trade his testimony in exchange for an immunity deal. Flynn was fired from his job at the White House when it was discovered he had lied to the Vice-President. The lies were in regard to connections with the Russian ambassador,
With multiple committee’s and agencies investigating the allegations that Russia meddled in last year’s Presidential election, one could speculate that this is not the last America will hear of Michael Flynn or his immunity request.
